Pack Vadon Summer Hunt & Feast FAQ’s

What should I bring?

  • Water. There is no running water at the campsite. Bottled water, Gatorade, sodas, and sparkling water will be available at the pavilion, but if you want water at your campsite or for washing, you must bring your own. Showers will be available for Hunt participants only.

  • Sturdy shoes. This is a mountain wilderness campground with uneven, rocky terrain, trees, and cactus patches. If you are participating in the Hunt, hiking boots or trail runners are required.

  • Warm clothing and bedding. Bring a hoodie or jacket and warm blankets. Even in summer, mountain nights can get quite chilly.

  • Food. We will provide dinner on Friday night, breakfast on Saturday morning, and the Feast on Saturday evening. Lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday will not be provided, so please plan accordingly. We will also have snacks available, including trail mix and protein bars, but if you have specific dietary needs or favorite snacks, please bring your own.*

  • Costumes! This is a Viking-themed primal festival, and we encourage everyone to embrace the atmosphere and unleash their inner warrior, hunter, beast, spirit, or wild soul. Costuming is not required, but it greatly enhances immersion and helps bring the world of the Hunt to life. Think furs, leather, antlers, bones, beads, tribal markings, face paint, cloaks, armor, and primitive-inspired garb. Whether you see yourself as a fierce Viking warrior, a cunning hunter, a primal predator, or a wanderer of the old world, this is your chance to step into that role. Not feeling warrior energy? Become a woodland nymph, forest fairy, wild god or goddess, ancient spirit, shaman, or mysterious creature of the deep woods. Let your imagination run free and create a character that feels at home among the trees, firelight, and mountains. Historical accuracy is not required—immersion is. Whether your look is Viking-inspired, primal, pagan, tribal, feral, mystical, or entirely your own creation, we invite you to leave the modern world behind and help create a living primal atmosphere in the wilderness for the weekend.

What can't I bring?

  • Weapons of any kind. Yes, Vikings carried weapons. No, that does not mean you can. No live steel, peace-tied weapons, training weapons, or replicas.

  • Animals. Animals are not permitted unless approved in advance by Kali. If you would like to bring a furry companion, please contact her before the event.

  • Intoxicants beyond alcohol or cannabis. Hunt participants may not consume alcohol or cannabis prior to, or during, either Hunt. If you are under 21, you may not consume alcohol or cannabis at any time during the event. If we observe or reasonably suspect that you have been drinking alcohol or using cannabis before a Hunt, you will not be permitted to participate.

  • Consent violations, excessive force, or unsafe conduct. The Hunt is built on trust, communication, and mutual respect. This is a BDSM event, and consent is required, ongoing, enthusiastic, and must be respected at all times. Ask for "yes"—do not wait for "no." Consent applies to every interaction, whether physical, social, playful, or scene-related. The Hunt may be physically demanding, but reckless aggression, excessive force, attempts to injure others, or any behavior that creates an unsafe environment will not be tolerated. Anyone who violates consent, ignores boundaries, or engages in unsafe behavior will be removed from the event immediately and may be permanently banned from future events.

*Dietary accommodations. We are happy to accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets for the meals we provide, but we must receive advance notice. Accommodations will be simple fare, such as veggie burgers or Impossible burgers. If you have specific dietary preferences or would like something different, you are welcome to bring it, and we will be happy to prepare it for you.

What Should I Know?

• The campsite opens to the public at 1:00 PM on Friday, 6/19. The only exceptions are verified hook-pull participants and approved out-of-town guests. When you arrive, proceed directly to registration at the main pavilion. Do not unload or set up camp until you have registered, signed your waiver, received your wristband, and been directed to your campsite. If you camp anywhere other than where you are assigned, you will be asked to move.

• Campsites must be vacated by 10:00 AM on Sunday morning. There are only two acceptable ways to dispose of trash: place it in a trash bag and deposit it in the bear-proof trash containers near the pavilion or take it home with you. Your campsite should be left exactly as you found it. If trash is left behind, we know who was assigned to each campsite, and you will not be permitted to camp onsite at future events.

• UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE FIRES OR OPEN FLAMES PERMITTED ANYWHERE EXCEPT THE DESIGNATED GRILLS AND FIRE PIT. A Level 1 fire restriction is in effect. Smoking is only permitted inside your vehicle with the windows closed.

• There are bears in these woods. Secure all food, trash, and scented items at all times.

• The campground has dry toilets (essentially permanent porta-potties). There is no running water. Toilet paper is usually provided, but bringing your own is always a good idea. Please clean up after yourself.

• This is a sex-positive BDSM and kink event. By registering, you acknowledge that you will abide by the same standards of consent, conduct, and etiquette expected at dungeons and play parties. You may encounter rope scenes, impact play, primal scenes, consensual non-consent (CNC) scenes, or other negotiated activities. If you witness something that is not for you, keep walking and respect the privacy of those involved. Do not interfere with scenes. If you have concerns about safety, consent, or conduct, find a Hunt Monitor or event volunteer immediately.

• If you choose to engage in scenes or play, do so discreetly and away from the pavilion, roadways, trails, and open field. While the campground is our event space, the roads are public and occasionally non-attendees may pass through the area. Help us maintain the privacy, safety, and future of this event by keeping scenes out of public view. If you see someone without a wristband, get a volunteer immediately.

• Excessive force, reckless behavior, non-consensual conduct, or actions that endanger participants, wildlife, or the campground will result in immediate removal from the event and may result in a permanent ban from future events.
