Hook Pull Info & Guidelines

required reading for Hook Pull participation. Yes there will be a quiz

We are excited to announce that adjacent to this year’s Hunt, there shall be a Social Hook Pull on Friday June 19th 2026. Participants may arrive between 11:00 and 12:00. One does not need to participate in the Hunt to access the Hook Pull.

Hook Pull will NOT be included with your admission to The Hunt.

We have decided however that this year’s Hunt participants will get a discounted rate. If you’ve signed up for the 2026 Hunt it will cost

$80.00/person. Otherwise, the cost is $100/person. These costs are to support various behind the scene labors and expense that are incurred to manifest these community events. Pairs of hooks for 34 persons have already been prepared.

Hook Pull participants must sign an indemnification independent from the Hunt and provide a valid ID. Your

information will only be shared in the case of emergencies or litigation, both of which we seriously hope to avoid. Hook pull participants will be provided with information to review and opportunities to ask questions before the event. Hook pull participants are expected to provide themselves with the resources they need post event (e.g. aftercare).

If hook pull participants have not procured admission to the Hunt, they are expected to leave the night of the 19 th at or before 20:00, OR provide compensation and indemnification to the Hunt organizer.

Tentative timeline:

On or before June 15 th

  • Hook Pull participants provide compensation to DenizenUrth

  • Hook Pull participants provide indemnification to DenizenUrth

  • Hook Pull Participants review the materials provided by DenizenUrth

  • Tuesday June 16 th

  • DenizenUrth discontinues communications from any would be participants end of business day

  • Thursday June 18 th

Day of June Friday 19th

  • 11:00 Hook Pull participants arrive on site (lower field) and set up camp (or maybe picnic?)

  • 12:00 Hookers start setting up piercing stations and the like

  • 13:00 Hookers start piercing

  • 14:00 Social Hook Pull

  • 15:00 Hunt participants start showing up and setting up camp (not in the lower field, yet)

  • 17:30 Hookers begin to remove hooks and “burp” participants

  • 18:00 Hook Pull aftercare and cool down

  • 18:00 Wrestling/grappling class starts in the lower field

  • 18:30 Persons attending the Hunt may start setting up camp in the lower field if desired

We believe this will provide enough time between events so that one may participate in both the Hook Pull and Hunt activities if desired.

Q & A

Q: What if I want to receive hooks but I’m not interested in opening myself up to a large social pull?

A: Sure, I’m not a cop, you do you. Let’s keep in touch so we can make sure you’re well taken care of

Q: How much do Hooks hurt?

A: This question is not something I can provide you outside ‘somewhere between some and all’

Q: Can I keep my hooks?

A: Sure! Or you can donate them back to the community where they will be sterilized and recycled.

Q: What if the day of I decide I’m not in the space to receive hooks?

A: I’m not going to refund moneys paid, but I’m willing to transfer to another participant who has met all the other criterion set out above.

Q: What if I want to support my friend by holding their hand or petting their hair while they receive hooks

A: Cute, yeah that’s great. Let’s do that.

Q: What if I want to support my friend by drumming or holding cords attached to hooks?

A: Cute, yeah that’s great. Let’s do that.

Q: What if I want to support my friend by holding their hand or petting their hair while they receive hooks

A: Cute, yeah that’s great. Let’s do that.

Q: Will there be music? Can I bring my drum, pan pipes, portable speakers etc.

A: I’d be pretty excited for some primal sounds that will rattle my bronchi like drumming or digeridoo. Let’s however default to the needs and the wants of the people who are pierced. So, yes bring them and let’s see how things shake out

Q: What if it rains, snows, or sulfur drops from the heavens?

A: This is a rain or shine event, bring a shirt you wouldn’t mind putting huge holes in if you need some cover.

Q: What if I’m not ‘done’ with my hook pull or aftercare and it’s getting late?

A: We recognize the importance of unplugging from the fiction of time when engaging in body-stress-rituals and want to honor the experience you’re having.

Q: I’ve got some feedback that I want to provide

A: Is it constructive? Great! E-mail DenizenUrth@gmail.com or DM DenizenUrth on Fetlife.com

About DenizenUrth:

DenizenUrth’s path into the kink community was through his appreciation of and exploration of the body modification and modern primitive cultures. It became apparent that the habits and customs of various peoples around the world accessed the technology of bodies to heal and improve themselves with body-stress-rituals.

His early studies: Fakir Intensive - Branding 2006, Fakir Intensive - Basic Body Piercing 2007, and the Northern California Suspension Convention by Steve Joiner & Allen Faulkner 2008, were instrumental in establishing body modification technical competence and skill.

In 2010 DenizenUrth moved to Syracuse, NY where they first entered an established kink community. In 2012, after completing a master’s degree in Ecological Engineering, DenizenUrth moved to Santa Fe, NM where they continued to participate in kink community. DenizenUrth was a previous organizer and host of Kink Gatherings at The Thorny Rose (Santa Fe & Pojoaque, NM) August 2019- March 2020. Since July 2021 they continue to organize the Kinksters in Santa Fe NM Munch and moderate the online group.

“While I’m not keen to steal nor appropriate the rituals of other cultures, we can be inspired by them. All of our ancestors held knowledge about the body. With so many of us with limited or undesirable connection to our birth families and/or divorced from ancestors, it is important that we reinterpret, discover, or invent the rituals that are going to promote our connection(s) and wellbeing. Rituals that are appropriate for us, our times, and our culture(s).”
